  • Grái kötturinn means The Grey Cat. There is a saying in Icelandic that if you linger around the same place for a long time and frequently, then you are like a grey cat in that place. Before the restaurant opened there was a jewlery maker in the same location. And strange enough, a grey cat used to visit the jewler and hang around. So, the name comes from that grey cat, (no one knew where it came from or where it lived) - that lingered around - like a grey cat :)
